Where the simple life becomes grand
Along the Ostrobothnian coast, in the heart of Vörå, lies Kvarken Living – a place where nature, culture and community meet. Here, tranquility, sea breezes and a simple life close to nature await. In an environment characterized by slowness and presence.
The Kvarken archipelago is a UNESCO World Heritage Site that impresses with its unique nature, rich biodiversity and a landscape that is still shaped by the imprint of the ice sheet. It is a place where the depth of history meets a living present – a place for those who long for something genuine.
By collaborating with local actors, protecting the environment and using resources in a sustainable way, we create a place where tradition and future can live side by side.
At Kvarken Living, we offer accommodation and experiences that allow you to get close to nature – and at the same time contribute to both your own well-being and that of nature.
On the shore of the Gulf of Bothnia in Karvat, Vörå, a new place is emerging – a quiet, coastal haven where forest and sea meet. Kastminnehamn is part of Kvarken Living – here you will find recovery, simplicity and time to just be.
From the summer of 2025 we can offer:
A cottage for overnight stays, a wood-fired beach sauna, a sandy beach and a jetty – as well as a rowing boat that you can freely borrow for quiet trips in the bay. A place for life’s breaks with a focus on close-to-nature experiences, sustainability and quality time.

Kastminnehamn welcomes you who are looking for something simple and authentic
Perhaps you are a family with children who want to fish and barbecue at sunset, a hiker with a thermos in their backpack, a group of friends on a weekend trip or a couple who long for sea air and tranquility. Regardless of the season – there is space here for those who want to take a breather.
With us you can really take a sauna – just like people used to do in the past. No modern amenities, instead you carry water in yourself, from the lake or rain barrel, depending on what nature has to offer.
The water is heated in the sauna tank while you light a fire with wood from the nearby forest. With a wash basin and bucket you wash yourself in the sauna – in the warmth of the fire and the scent of wood, just like generations before us did.
This is a sauna bath for both body and soul. A moment where the slow takes its place, and everyday life is left outside. If you are not used to lighting a fire – or if you just want to sit back – you can book our sauna major for a small fee. Remember to book well in advance.
Welcome to take a sauna bath in Vörå-ångona – the home region of the KAJ boys.
